| Plex Training (Available to All Fort Bend Texans players) | ||
| Description: | We are
very excited to continue our relationship with Plex, once again
offering speed & agility training to our baseball & softball
athletes. The Fort Bend Texans organization believes that
conditioning is a vital part of a good training program, so we
encourage our families to participate in Plex training by
supplementing the fee for our players. For players within the
Fort Bend Texans organization, the rate is $150 for 10 sessions.
Please understand that this rate is offered only through the
Fort Bend Texans, and we are able to extend this rate to our
players because the Fort Bend Texans organization is covering
the additional cost. Regular Plex training fees are
$25/hour session.

Coach Carter,
It was great to work with your kids the other day.
You know I've worked with thousands of professional
athletes and even a greater number of young
athletes, with that experience one key element for
success is always "do they have potential to be
great." In saying that, I must add that on Monday,
I saw a lot of kids with extreme upside/potential.
If these kids are as good on the baseball field as
you say, and they have so much room to grow on their
athletic abilities (from what I saw that evening),
then I think you have some special kids in front of
you.
The biggest thing I noticed with these kids is that
they do not know how to run, they lack hip and leg
power and their coordination can improve greatly.
In saying so, if we can get these kids to continue
to come on a consistent basis, they are going to be
phenomenal players. But please understand, the
things that I just mentioned don't come natural. So
whether they decide to come to us or some where
else, I think that it's extremely crucial that they
work on those weaknesses. If not, you're going to
be scratching your head when they're turning 17 or
18 years of age, and wonder why they didn't develop
into player you thought they would.
Additionally, I think nutrition can play a huge role
on their performance, so if we can set up a meeting
with the parents and the kids sometime, that would
be huge too.

| Fall 2010 Weekly Skills School (8U - 12U, Baseball & Softball) | ||
| Description: | Back by
popular demand, we are pleased to once again offer our weekly training program. Our Skills School is designed
specifically for
those players who would like to continue playing with their
current Little League or Select Team but would like to benefit
from the specialty position practices with the professional Fort Bend Texans
coaches. The school will be held weekly (Saturday mid-day
for Softball, Sunday afternoons for baseball) for 1 1/2
hours, and will give players the opportunity to learn position
specific skills from coaches who have played the game at the
professional level. The school is also open to teams.

for the school are $25 per session (payable in monthly blocks),
plus an annual $55 registration fee. Players commit to the
school for one month at a time, and fees are not refundable.
Credit will be given for rainouts, but not for missed sessions.
Fees for Skills School players who wish to participate in games are $25 per game ($50 per double header.) OPTIONAL

will be given a Fort Bend Texans practice tee shirt and cap, and
will be expected to wear the Fort Bend Texans uniform at
practice. Players will provide the pants, socks & belt

session for those who will play baseball exclusively (Fall I) and a shorter season to accommodate football players
(Fall II.) The Fall I Session is scheduled to participate in a 12-game fall league plus 1-2 November/December tournaments. Practices & games will be held on weekends only, with an occasional (optional) weekday specialty practice. The Fall II Session will play 3-4 tournaments plus practices in November - January (weekends only.) |
